The idea
I wanted one of my three spec pieces to be about technology, without looking like every other tech ad. I started from a single word: consumption. We consume technology the way we consume food: compulsively, always chasing the latest thing. So I took the word literally. What would a society look like if it actually ate its technology?
Process
I built the world in Seedance 2.0: first the space, then the table and its diners. Keeping the scene coherent was the hard part, so I moved to shorter shots and dropped a tracking shot that never held together. When Seedance 2.5 came out, the scene finally held: better skin, better acting, and the atmosphere I was after. The tracking shot still wasn't right, so it stayed out. I edited by hand in CapCut.
Music & sound
The score takes German opera as its starting point, pushed somewhere modern so it doesn't become a cliché. Vocals generated in Suno; electronics written, played and mixed by hand. Ambiences started in Krotos Studio and were finished by hand, so every ambience sits where it should.
Titles
I chose not to lock the idea to one brand. Early test screenings showed the concept wasn't landing, so I added context at the opening and closed on black with a single line.
