The brief
Copenhague are a new band from Barcelona, about to play live for the first time. They were stuck in the loop every new act knows: without promo material nobody books you, and without gigs there is no promo material to shoot. They needed a launch video before a single show had happened.
All they gave me was the band name and their final logo, plus a couple of photos of the two of them. The rest was mine.
The idea
They play indie, a niche sound, but they want to end up on big stages. So the film travels that distance: from a small club to the scale of a festival, cut fast, image after image. A promise of where they are going, not a record of where they are.
Process
Same method as my own pieces: a script first, built from what I knew about them and their music. Then generation in Magnific with Seedance, including a few shots of the band themselves, generated from their photos so the film keeps a human face.
For the edit I tried something new. I generated several 30-second takes plus a handful of short, very specific shots I knew I wanted, and let CapCut's AI edit propose a cut. Then I worked like an editor over an assistant's assembly: kept the blocks that worked, threw out what didn't, added my own shots, and finished the cut by hand.
Music
Generated in Suno v6, edited by me where it didn't fit, and mixed by me. No sound design: the track carries it.
